SmileCare opened in Glyfada in September 2014, founded by two clinicians who met during their hospital residency at Evangelismos and stayed in touch for a decade before deciding to build a practice together. Dr. Marina Konstantinidou had finished her orthodontics specialty at the University of Pennsylvania and returned to Athens with the conviction that orthodontic treatment had to feel kinder — fewer panicked teenagers, fewer surprised parents, no shouting across a clinic. Dr. Stefanos Karagiannis had spent six years between London and Thessaloniki perfecting cosmetic dentistry and full-mouth rehabilitation.
